Curriculum

Wonders, a comprehensive PreK–6 literacy solution, is designed to meet the challenges of today’s classroom and reach all learners.  We use several print and digital resources to support a strong literacy foundation. Students access complex fiction and nonfiction texts, writing to sources, and building social emotional learning skills.

 

The Engage New York ELA curricula include six modules that focus on reading, writing, listening, and speaking in response to high-quality texts.

 

While other math curricula ask students to progress from simple to complex concepts in just a few weeks, Saxon Math scaffolds instruction of each concept and continues to review information introduced earlier.  This allows students the time and practice to retain math concepts to the level of mastery.

 

Step Up to Writing instructional strategies and writing lessons help students understand the importance of each step in the writing process.  Beginning writers explicitly learn and practice each phase of the process.  Common expectations and language for writing across every grade level builds confidence as students grow into more advanced writers as the process becomes more fluid and automatic.

 

The Core Knowledge History and Geography program includes the complete history and geography curriculum for students in K-8.  This is a comprehensive program in world and American history and geography, integrating topics in civics and the arts. Core Knowledge History and Geography helps students build knowledge of the diverse civilizations, cultures, and concepts specified in the Core Knowledge Sequence.

 

Discovery Education Science is a comprehensive, research-backed, three-dimensional science program that combines digital-first learning resources with high-quality, standards-aligned content to spark curiosity and drive active engagement in science.  Virtual and hands-on investigations enhance the delivery of impactful instruction.
