About ACS

Academy Charter School is a public charter institution serving kindergarten through 8th-grade students in Castle Rock, Colorado.  Established in 1993 by a dedicated group of parents, ACS offers a distinctive educational experience centered around the Core Knowledge Curriculum and Core Virtues program.

Located at 1551 Prairie Hawk Drive, ACS operates under the Douglas County School District. The school emphasizes a student-centered approach, integrating research-based practices to address both academic and behavioral needs.  This methodology ensures that each student receives tailored support, fostering their overall development.

ACS is committed to providing a comprehensive education that nurtures the physical, social, and emotional well-being of every student.  The school offers a variety of programs, including Spanish language instruction for all grades, technology integration, art, music, and physical education.  Parental involvement is highly encouraged, with families requested to volunteer 20 hours per year, reinforcing the collaborative community spirit that ACS values.
