Leadership

Academy Charter School's leadership team is dedicated to fostering an environment where students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Principal Erin McMilon, alongside a passionate group of educators and staff, guides our school with a commitment to excellence and a whole-child approach to learning.

Since its founding in 1993 by a dedicated group of parents, Academy Charter School has grown into a premier K-8 institution in Castle Rock, Colorado. Under Principal McMilon’s leadership, the school continues to embrace its mission of delivering a rigorous, research-based education while promoting the development of core virtues and strong community values.

"At Academy Charter School, we believe a quality education goes beyond academics.  Our certified teachers deliver Core Knowledge Curriculum and robust Spanish, technology, art, music, and physical education programs designed to create well-rounded learners.  With the strong support of our parent community, we ensure that each student benefits from a collaborative and enriching educational experience.

Our student-centered approach prioritizes meeting every child where they are, providing targeted interventions and opportunities for growth.  Whether it’s acceleration for advanced learners or remediation to support those who need it, we strive to match each student’s abilities and talents with optimal learning opportunities.  We’re proud to foster an environment that addresses academic achievement and prioritizes every student's physical, social, and emotional health.  By integrating research-based practices, we empower students to succeed in all areas of life."
