Academy Charter School Support Program for Homeschool Families

Over 20 Years of supporting local homeschooling families

Our Mission: We strive to support families in their homeschooling journey by providing academically rigorous curriculum, engaging hands-on lessons and a safe learning environment in which to build lasting friendships.

Many parents are well qualified to teach science but do not have the resources or the equipment to conduct the variety of hands-on activities essential to reinforce the topics presented. Our instruction far exceeds what the state standards require for science.

Our Locations: The Academy Charter Homeschool Support Program offers classes in Castle Rock, Lone Tree and Parker.

Castle Rock: Classes meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00-11:05 at Ridgeline Community Church. Students in grades K-8 receive complete instruction in Science and Spanish.

Parker: Classes meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:50-3:00 at New Beginning Community Church. Students in grades K-8 receive complete instruction in Science and Spanish.

Lone Tree Tuesday/Thursday: Classes meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Word of Life Christian Center for an extended day from 10:15-2:00. Students in grades K-6 receive complete instruction in Science and Spanish.  Students will eat a cold lunch at school.

Wednesday Program at Lone Tree: Grades K-8 meet on Wednesdays from 8:30-3:00 at Word of Life Christian Center in Lone Tree for instruction in Science, Spanish and an elective class. Lone Tree Wednesday students have an additional “elective” class which changes throughout the year and may include classes such as PE, Art, math enrichment, cooking, etc. Students will eat a cold lunch at school.

Class Information:

Kindergarten: Class size is limited to ten students. This is a great way to introduce your child to Science, Spanish, phonics and other important kindergarten skills.

First through Eighth Grades: Students have the opportunity to work collaboratively with other students, present projects, share ideas and build friendships. The certified teachers provide hands on activities to support the Core Knowledge Science Curriculum. Spanish instruction includes vocabulary, reading, speaking, writing, and listening.  It also includes songs, games and information about the culture of Spanish speaking countries.

Spanish: The ACS Homeschool Program offers a Spanish cultural class which teaches the Spanish language while learning about the culture, geography, customs, etc. of different Spanish speaking regions.

All Assignments Completed in Class:
The assignments are presented in total during class. We usually do not ask the student to complete additional work at home. Supplemental work will only be provided at the parent’s request.  However, students are expected to review class content regularly and prepare for exams.
Program Fee: Children participating in ACS Homeschool Program are enrolled as a part time students at the charter school and therefore it is a tuition free program. We do ask for a small material fee to assist in the supplies needed to conduct the many hands-on activities. All students pay $25 with a max of $100 per family. Academy Charter School fully covers the curriculum for the subjects we teach (Science and Spanish). A basic school supply list will be sent out before classes begin.

While providing instructional support, we acknowledge that the homeschool parents remain the primary provider for the education of their children.

Our Lottery Registration Form will open each year in mid November for the following school year.
