Part-time Kindergarten - 8th Grade Exploratory Elective Teacher (certified or non-certified) Homeschool Support Program

The Academy Charter School's Homeschool Support Program is seeking an enthusiastic and creative teacher for our Homeschool Exploratory Elective classes at our two Lone Tree locations. The ideal candidate(s) will provide engaging and motivating lessons for enrichment in Art, Music, PE, Economics, Cooking/Baking, Mathematics, Language Arts for our Lone Tree homeschool students.

Responsibilities: 
  • Strong knowledge of Art, Music, PE, Economics, Cooking/Baking, Mathematics,Language Arts and able to plan lessons.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Flexibility/willingness to work in a non-conventional classroom setting.
  • Candidate(s) must be able to work on Tuesdays and Thursdays at our Lone Tree location, 9:30-2:00 p.m. and Wednesday, 8:30-3:00 p.m.
Qualifications:
  • Available to Work: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:30-2:00 p.m. and Wednesday, 8:30-3:00 p.m. at our Lone Tree location.
  • Current Colorado Department of Education Teacher License (preferred, not required)
  • Ability to work with students Kindergarten-8th grade.
  • General office/computer skills.
  • Polished professional appearance.

Salary Range:Ranges depending on taking one position or two

School Leader - Principal position

Experience/Knowledge

The Principal should have a degree in education administration and hold a Colorado Principal's license or be within one year of completing the license and a minimum of five years successful elementary or middle school teaching experience.

Skills/Abilities

The Principal must have strong communication, organization and administrative skills. He/she must be flexible and able to undertake a variety of activities during the normal course of business. The Principal must be able to develop, interpret and administer a budget within the Colorado State Finance Act and communicate financial issues to the Governing Council. The Principal must foster a positive, enthusiastic and innovative climate at the school for all to follow.

School Leader Job Description:
  • Reports to the Academy Charter School Governing Board
  • Supervises all school personnel, directly and/or indirectly
  • To serve as the chief administrator of a school in developing and implementing policies, programs, curriculum activities, and budgets in a manner that promotes the educational development of each student and the professional development of each staff member.
  • General Planning: conceptualizes the broad goals of the school and plans accordingly to ensure that procedures and schedules are implemented to carry out the total school program.
  • General Coordination: ensures that the school program is compatible with the legal, financial and organizational structure of the school system. The School Leader defines the responsibilities and accountability of staff members and develops plans for interpreting the school program to the community.
  • Enhancement of Personnel Skills: provides activities which facilitate the professional growth of the school staff and enhance the quality of the instructional program, i.e. professional development for all staff.
  • School Objectives: identifies the annual objectives for the instructional, extracurricular, and athletic programs of the school.
  • Curriculum Objectives: ensures that instructional objectives for a given subject and/or classroom are developed, and involves the faculty and others in the development of specific curricular objectives to meet the needs of the school program. The School Leader provides opportunities for staff participation in the school program.
  • Establishes Formal Work Relationships: evaluates student progress in the instructional program by means that include the maintaining of up-to-date student data. The School Leader supervises and appraises the performance of the school staff.
  • Facilitates Organizational Efficiency: maintains inter-school system communication. The School Leader maintains good relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • New Staff and Students: orients and assists new staff and new students and provides opportunities for their input in the school program.
  • Community: encourages the use of community resources, cooperates with the community in the use of school facilities, interprets the school program for the community, and maintains communication with community members.
  • Supplies and Equipment: manages, directs, and maintains records on the materials, supplies and equipment which are necessary to carry out the daily school routine. The School Leader involves the staff in determining priorities for instructional purposes.
  • Services: organizes, oversee, and provides support to the various services, supplies, material, and equipment provided to carry out the school program. The School Leader makes use of community resources.
  • Operations: managing the school on a daily basis, recruit exceptional talent across the organization, provide appropriate disciplinary actions for staff and students, managing and planning of the school facilities including overseeing the upcoming Bond projects, direct oversight of the budget and financial reporting for the school's operations, prepare and make accurate and timely reports on no less than a monthly basis to the Governing Board covering all areas of school activities and school finances

Year-Round - Academy Kids Before and After School Program Assistant

Responsibilities: 

Responsible for providing assistance to the Before and After School Director in working with students, clerical tasks and other functions; mediates student conflicts; supervises students in various settings; may administer first aid; assists in the maintenance of student records; assists in the maintenance of student cumulative records through the transcription of data; performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications:
  • Available to Work:
  • High School Diploma
  • Able to work 3:35 p.m.-6:00 p.m. M-F
  • Must be available to work during summers. Flexible hours available.
  • Must be 18 years old or older
  • Ability to work with students Kindergarten-8th grade
  • CPR/First Aid/UP Certified. Training supplied.
  • Able to drive for Field Trips

Salary Range: $12-15/hour
Start Date: June 3, 2019
