Y.E.S.S. Program

What is the Y.E.S.S Program?

Each year we feature the Youth Education and Safety in Schools (YESS) program here at ACS. This program is brought to us from the Douglas County Sheriffs Department and taught in our middle school by a uniformed officer. The YESS program is being offered in place of DARE,  as it covers a wider range of issues that face our teens today. Some of the topics included are: bullying, harassment, sexual harassment, appropriate teen relationships, abusive relationships, internet safety, peer pressure, drugs and alcohol. This program is 6 class periods long for both 7th and 8th grade students and 3 periods  for 6th grade.

For more information on this program please visit their website. Lesson guides and opt out forms are online  www.dcsheriff.net/yess/
