Due to the IRS Calendar year for the PTO being July 1st-June 31st,
the new PTO Board will officially take office July 1st, not June
1st as previously announced. We apologize for any confusion.

To close the year, the PTO would like to extend an enormous “thank
you” to Dean Nelson, Dean Peters, the Governing Board,
Brenda Knight, Liz Smith, Anne Belfrage, Lori Burgos, Barbara
Ireland, Robert Fortelka, the ACS Aides, all the ACS Teachers,
Lisa McNeill, and the 8th grade parents and students. Thank you
for making the PTO Board’s job easier throughout the year.
It has been an honor to serve ACS, parents and students as PTO
President. It was a wonderful experience and very educational
as to what it takes to run a school. I was privileged to serve
with an amazing group of board members who were always eager
and passionate about their job. They continually made my job
and role much easier.
We started off the year positively, with many of our fundraising
events resulting in success. The PTO is so grateful to the parents,
staff and teachers who volunteered in our fundraisers. Obviously,
we started out the year hoping to be able to stick to the fundraisers
and events that were set over the past summer. However, it was
necessary to make adjustments in those pre-planned events, as
it became increasingly clear that the amount of volunteers it
would take to make the 5K and Expo successful would be too difficult
to achieve. The PTO quickly learned that event-based fundraisers
were too exhausting for a handful of volunteers, to make the
outcome profitable enough, which is why we had to change gears
mid-year.
It is the PTO’s hope that direct donations and possibly
1 or 2 academically based fundraisers next year, will relieve
a lot of the pressure on families, alleviating burn-out on those
handful of volunteers who inevitably step up, and to hopefully
start seeing the majority of the dollars you give go directly
back to ACS instead of a small percentage as in traditional fundraising.
Thank you for your patience and understanding throughout the
changes and even greater thanks for your support of the fundraisers
that ended up replacing our previously planned events.
Remember, the PTO Meetings are your best avenue for keeping
informed of any and all PTO directions, focus, changes and goals.
I wish the 2007-2008 PTO Board a fun and successful year!
Sincerely,
Misty O'Leary

Our next General Meeting is scheduled for May 3rd. This
will be the final General Meeting of the school year.
Please remember that part of the twenty-hour volunteer
requirement for ACS families is to attend one PTO Meeting
during the
school year!
Agendas for all meetings will be posted on the PTO Board
just inside the school entrance at least five days before
each meeting. The PTO Board is pleased to work with the 8th
grade class in providing free babysitting services during
our General Meetings for the rest of the school-year.

EduKit Orders – EduKit forms for Student
Supplies went can be ordered online, or you may drop off

Thank you all so much for your participation in Brain Quest
'07! This was a very successful fundraiser due to the fact
that we do not have to split our profits with a company!
ACS will keep everything that was made! Congratulations to
the Mrs. Zimmerman and Mrs. Gauer for raising the most money
and having the most participants in Brain Quest.
Congratulations
to Clarke Cooper, winner of the $100.00 savings bond donated
by Wells Fargo Bank! We would also like to acknowledge
all students who received pledges totalling $100.00 or more:
Garret Smith, McKinley Dirks, Amanda Eggbrecht, Dakota Mascarenas,
Sky Mascarenas, Clarke Cooper, Brett Essegian, Brianne Solomon,
Mattison DeGarmo, Jackson Lancaster, Jacob Lancaster, Chase
De Jean, Brooklyn Rose, Adam Woodzell, Aaron Traxler, Sarah
Traxler, MacKenzie Burkhardt, Nicole Buckley, Hanna Isaacson,
Courtney Parks, and Alex Colgin. Thank you all so much for
supporting Brain Quest '07!
Finally, as the school year draws
to a close, we would like to thank all of the ACS parents
and the ACS staff and administration
for your support all throughout the school year.
Sincerely,
Brandi Essegian & Kristen Bushlack

you are interested in helping say “thanks” to
our wonderful Teachers and Staff, contact Allyson Ford.

Thank you for your support this year in helping provide
funds for classes and departments.

Don’t forget to check out the teacher “Wish
Lists” located on the ACS website. This is a great
way to support the teachers and departments for the extra
needs and wants that make the teachers jobs easier and more
creative, and ultimately make our students learning experience
even more fun.

ACS NEEDS YOU! If you have your own business or work for a
large corporation, ACS needs you. We need your support in any
and all areas you can think of. Many corporations have the
ability to match donations or make donations, and you might
not even know it. Sometimes all it takes is you proving you
are volunteering and your company can donate to your school.
We need you to go to your Human Resources Department or your
boss and ask them how that company can give back to your school.
Tell us what we can do to facilitate the donation, and we will
do all we can to assist your business. We can provide any documentation
needed for a tax write-off. Please contact us and let us know
how you and your company can help ACS.
