ACS BUSINESS DIRECTORY INPUT NEEDED

The PTO has approved the production of a Parent Resource Directory promoting businesses owned by ACS Parents. This will be a great, affordable way for businesses to gain exposure to families and staff as well as a way for the entire ACS family to help support businesses owned by ACS parents. If you are interested in learning more about advertising through school-based media, please contact both Greg Polashock and Kindra Nelson immediately by email. Their email addresses are Greg@GregIsFinancingSolutions.com and NelsonK@AcademyCharter.org.

Please remember that part of the twenty-hour volunteer requirement for ACS families is to attend one PTO Meeting during the school year!

Our next General Meeting is scheduled for February 8th.
Our next Executive/Working Meeting is scheduled for December 4th.
Agendas for all meetings will be posted on the PTO Board just inside the school entrance at least five days before each meeting.

Overview of November 9th General Meeting
The Board was given reports by each committee Chair. Of particular value were the reports from the Fundraising and Enrichment Committees. See below for specific information of interest.

A special report was given by Greg Polashock regarding a recently proposed ACS Parent Resource Business Directory. See Special Announcements, above, for important details of this proposal.

Please Attend PTO General Meetings!!
The Board noticed a marked absence of parents at this, our first General Meeting of the year. The PTO Board believes active parent involvement is vital. Since there are only four scheduled General Meetings throughout the year, and part of the ACS parent responsibility is to attend at least one PTO Meeting during the year, the PTO Board is pleased to work with the 8th grade class in providing free babysitting services during our General Meetings for the rest of the school-year.

Thank you for supporting the Believe and Wreath fundraisers. Both of these coincided with our kick off of the Holiday season, culminating in a big celebration at our Winter Festival, Friday, December 1st. Many thanks to the PTO Fundraising Committee and parent volunteers who have worked so hard to make this event what we hope is a huge success and tremendous fun for your family.

A sincere thank you to our sponsors for the Winter Festival: Pam and Eliot Hardy (Allstate Insurance); Wells Fargo; IREA; and Jan and Peter Cline (Little Caesars Pizza).

Please don't forget to read your ACS and PTO Newsletters! The PTO is supporting the schools desire to direct as much information as possible to newsletters in an effort to reduce the amount of information in your Friday folders. So, the PTO is limiting its Friday folder communication to you. Please don't forget to check your newsletters for important information and updates from the PTO.

We look forward to seeing you at the Winter Festival!

December’s Applebee’s Night is 12/5. Don’t forget to take your flyer, which will be included in Friday Folders. The Chick-Fil-A Restaurant Night (12/21) will be for the benefit of our Eighth Grade classes. As always, Chick-Fil-A accepts ACS participants ALL DAY LONG! Everyone is welcome to participate and, Eighth Grade Families, this is a great chance to show your school spirit by literally putting your money where your mouth is! Please show your school spirit and take advantage of restaurant nights. This is an easy way to support the classrooms and departments… and all you have to do is eat!!

Thank you for your continued support of these fun-alicious fundraisers that directly impacts the grades and departments at ACS!

WINTER FESTIVAL – THIS FRIDAY NIGHT AT ACS!!!!

We are excited about our fast-approaching Winter Festival, this Friday, December 1st from 6pm-9pm. MARK YOUR CALENDAR AND BRING THE WHOLE FAMILY!!!
Thank you for helping us to make this a successful fundraiser.

Denver Broncos offensive lineman Erik Pears (#64) will be at our Winter Festival signing autographs. If you bring in your Bronco paraphernalia he will be happy to sign it. We will also be auctioning off a Signed Denver Broncos Football.

The PTO would like to sell Christmas trees at our Winter Festival on December 1st. If you might be interested in purchasing one of the beautiful live trees that will be at the festival, please let us know. If you let us know, you are under no obligation to purchase the tree, we would just like an idea of how many trees to order. The prices will be comparable to any other tree lots around town. Please contact Kristen Bushlack or Brandi Essegian if interested in purchasing a tree.

We would be pleased to have any help you might wish to offer, so please contact Kristen Bushlack at bradbushlack@msn.com (303-663-8966) or Brandi Essegian at BEssegian@aol.com to learn how to assist with the Winter Festival.

Believe! Orders…

…came a bit over a week ago and were distributed to all the classes. The children should have come home with them. If an order is incorrect or damaged in any way, please call the number on your packing slip ASAP to get issues taken care of. Three orders were received that didn't have a child’s name on it. If you haven't gotten your order, please stop at the ACS front desk to pick it up.

This is a great and easy way to not only show support for our outstanding staff; it is also an easy way to help satisfy part of your time commitment to the school.

Don’t forget to check out the teacher “Wish Lists” located on the ACS website. This is a great way to support the teachers and departments for the extra needs and wants that make the teachers jobs easier and more creative, and ultimately make our students learning experience even more fun.

ACS NEEDS YOU! If you have your own business or work for a large corporation, ACS needs you. We need your support in any and all areas you can think of. Many corporations have the ability to match donations or make donations, and you might not even know it. Sometimes all it takes is you proving you are volunteering and your company can donate to your school. We need you to go to your Human Resources Department or your boss and ask them how that company can give back to your school. Tell us what we can do to facilitate the donation, and we will do all we can to assist your business. We can provide any documentation needed for a tax write-off. Please contact us and let us know how you and your company can help ACS.
