ATTENTION PARENTS:
If you paid $30 for your Ebooks instead of the $25 amount, the
PTO would like to offer you your $5 back. If you would like the
PTO Board to cut you a check for your overage, you must fill
out a form at the front office NO LATER THAN NOVEMBER 3RD. After
November 3rd, your request will be researched and your check
will be cut within two weeks or by November 17th.

Please remember that part of the twenty-hour volunteer
requirement for ACS families is to attend one PTO Meeting
during the school-year!
-
Our next General Meeting is scheduled for November 9th,
in the Cafeteria, at 6PM.
-
Our next Executive/Working Meeting
is scheduled for December 7th, in the Cafeteria, at 6PM.
-
Agendas
for all meetings will be posted on the PTO Board just
inside the school entrance at least five days before
each meeting.
Budget Requests: The deadline for turning in budget requests
for the November 9th General Meeting is October 26th. Please
remember all completed budget requests must be in the PTO’s
possession for review and processing, two weeks prior to
a General Meeting. After November 9ths General Meeting,
the next Budget Meeting will be February 8th. Any Budget
Requests for consideration at that meeting will need to
be submitted no later than January 24th.
Overview of October 5th General Meeting
Due to poor advertising on the part of the PTO, the August
restaurant night originally slated to benefit the 8th
grade was rescheduled for December.
The Board approved some teacher budget requests.
The Board was given reports by the Enrichment Chair, as
well as one from the Fundraising Chair. (See Enrichment
and Fundraising, below.)
Please Attend PTO General Meetings!!
The Board noticed a marked absence of parents at this,
our first General Meeting of the year. The PTO Board
believes active parent involvement is vital. Since there
are only four scheduled General Meetings throughout the
year, and part of the ACS parent responsibility is to
attend at least one PTO Meeting during the year, the
PTO Board is pleased to work with the 8th grade class
in providing free babysitting services during our General
Meetings for the rest of the school-year.

Thank you for your participation in the Ebooks Fundraiser.
This event has closed and we are gearing up for the next
PTO sponsored fundraiser centered around the Holiday Season,
with wreath sales and the Believe catalog, and finally
the Winter Festival in December. This fundraiser is still
in need of volunteers, so please contact the Fundraising
Committee if you can help in any way.
The PTO Board continues to work closely with the teachers,
staff, Governing Board, and 8th grade parents to ensure
we are doing what we can assist any needs that may arise
for them, and to maintain the flow of communication so
that we can continue to center our work around the priority
needs of the school.
Don't forget to check the PTO Board in the hall for up
to date information on Meeting Agenda's, Meetings and PTO
sponsored activities.
Please mark your calendar for the year, to remember all
of the Restaurant Nights. Don't forget that Chick-Fil-A
is breakfast, lunch or dinner, and Applebee's requires
a flyer be brought in. The proceeds from these events directly
impact your child's classroom and specialties. This is
an easy way to give back to your school, while you eat.
Please remember your PTO Newsletters and the PTO Corner
of the ACS Newsletter. These sources will keep you informed
of anything the PTO is doing, as well as give you assistance
with ways to get your required 20 hours in for the year.
Thank you.

Teachers and Classroom Coordinators, we need your help in
promoting restaurant nights. This is an easy way to help the
classrooms and departments directly.
October’s Chick-Fil-A night is scheduled for Thursday,
October 19th, and will benefit our 1st grade classes. As always,
Chick-Fil-A accepts ACS participants ALL DAY LONG!
November’s Applebee’s night is scheduled for Tuesday,
November 7th, and will benefit our Spanish Department. Don’t
forget to take your flyer, which will be included in a Friday
Folder.
November’s Chick-Fil-A night is scheduled for Thursday,
November 16th, and will benefit our 4th grade classes. As always,
Chick-Fil-A accepts ACS participants ALL DAY LONG!
Please show your school spirit
and take advantage of both of these nights. This is an
easy way to support the
classrooms
and departments…..and all you have to do is eat!!
Restaurant Nights this school year will be for the benefit
of specific grades and departments. Any funds generated above
the $150 allocated by the PTO will be disbursed for the benefit
of that grade/department. October’s Chick-Fil-A Restaurant
Night (10/19) will be for the benefit of our First Grade classes.
Everyone is welcome to participate and, First Grade Families,
this is a great chance to show your school spirit by literally
putting your money where your mouth is!
NOTE: August's Chick-Fil-A Restaurant Night raised $120 and
was originally slated for the 8th Grade. Since their August
night occurred so early in the new school year and wasn't advertised
as well as we would have hoped, the PTO has decided to move
the 8th Grade restaurant night to December. The PTO Board has
decided to allocate August’s Restaurant Night proceeds
to any future shortfalls that may occur.

The Entertainment/Gold C Fundraiser ended September 13th.
We are still missing books, so please return them or appropriate
funds in lieu of.
Winter Festival Planning Meeting!
We are excited about our new fundraisers this year, starting
with the Winter Festival in December. If you would like
to participate in our Winter Festival Fundraiser please
join us on Wednesday, October 18th at 6:00 p.m. in the
ACS cafeteria. There is a lot to do and many different
ways to help. If you would like to be a part of this
exciting fundraiser but are unable to attend the meeting,
please contact us!
Thank you for your support,

Don’t forget to check out the teacher “Wish
Lists” located on the ACS website. This is a great
way to support the teachers and departments for the extra
needs and wants that make the teachers jobs easier and
more creative, and ultimately make our students learning
experience even more fun.

ACS NEEDS YOU! If you have your own business or work for
a large corporation, ACS needs you. We need your support
in any and all areas you can think of. Many corporations
have the ability to match donations or make donations, and
you might not even know it. Sometimes all it takes is you
proving you are volunteering and your company can donate
to your school. We need you to go to your Human Resources
Department or your boss and ask them how that company can
give back to your school. Tell us what we can do to facilitate
the donation, and we will do all we can to assist your business.
We can provide any documentation needed for a tax write-off.
Please contact us and let us know how you and your company
can help ACS.
