Mad Science: 11/1
- 12/13
- Dec. 15: Restaurant Day At Chick-fil-a -- 6:30 a.m.
- 10:00 p.m.

This year the PTO board has set a high fundraising
goal for the school to achieve, $50,000. We knew at the time
this would be hard to reach, but decided to keep this figure,
as a reminder of why we raise funds. The school’s computers
are all out of date. The eDUSS math and language arts software
programs some families have purchased are not being be utilized
in all classrooms, since the present computer software is too
antiquated to run them.
On November 15, the PTO, teachers and parents, voted to spend
$25,000 on updating technology at ACS. This only scratches the
surface of what is really needed ($150,000) to bring our school
up to date. If we can continue computer updates every year, through
fundraising, then Academy Charter School will be a place known
not only for its present academic excellence, but also for its
ability to prepare your children for high school, college, and
life. Technology will become more necessary and vital in the
future, not less.
The following figures are net income dollars, raised through the non-profit
ACS-PTO fundraisers and events.
Sale of School supplies: $919
Entertainment/Gold C books: $9119
Believe catalog sales: $6320
Koins for Kids: $1122
Golf outing at Red Hawk: $1315
Fall Festival and carnival: $3253
Tyson grocery labels: 0
Box Tops grocery labels: $470
Red Robin restaurant night: $250
ACS sweatshirts etc sales: $630
Total money raised for ACS-PTO this year so far is $23,398. Our goal
for this school year is $50,000. Many thanks go out to the many of
you who have helped us toward our goal. Also, we would like to thank
those who have given direct money contributions for ACS. This not only
helps the school get closer to the financial goal, it is by far the
most efficient method of raising money. Cash (or check) contributions
go 100% to helping ACS. Sales through fundraisers pay the school at
most 50% of total sales. Anytime your family members would like to
help the school, but are not interested in participating in a fundraiser
event, you can send in your money labeled with “ACS-PTO” to
the main office or to the post office box: ACS-PTO P.O. Box 521, Castle
Rock, CO 80104.

Our 3rd Annual ACS Fall Festival was a wonderful accomplishment!
Congratulations to the whole school for their involvement. Congratulations
to our parents, staff and students and others in the Castle Rock community
for turning out to make this event truly a great day of fun and such
a success. The turnout was incredible and we ran out of stuff for several
booths and had to go buy more. We had to buy several more rolls of
tickets halfway thru the day. It was wonderful! Many thanks to everyone!!
It was a great community event.
Thanks and honors to the following:
Sean Templeton – Thank you for working the entire carnival, where
ever needed. If we needed help with a game anywhere, you were willing
to help. Thank you for being our shoulder to lean on!
The Kocsis Family- Mr. and Mrs. Kocsis worked the entire carnival where
ever volunteers were needed. In addition, their boys worked Mrs. Cambria's
game for at least 3 hours. Thank you so much for your family’s
efforts!!
The Parks Family- Sue Parks and her family did an amazing job coordinating
the 3 games the 8th grade sponsored for the carnival. The MASH booth
was a huge hit, as were the pinata. Even after the pinatas were gone,
Mrs. Parks whipped out another game she had brought along "just
in case", and then the putt-putt game became one of the biggest
hits of the day. A special thank you to the Parks Family for all your
hard work, creativity and ingenuity!
Special Thanks also to the wonderful Fall Festival carnival coordinators
at ACS who volunteered with amazing enthusiasm and support!
