  • October 28 – set up for Fall Festival
  • October 29 – FALL FESTIVAL! 11:00 to 3:00
  • (October 30 – time change! ‘fall back’)
  • October 31 – deadline for all PTO treasurer candidates

  • November 3 – ACS + Red Robin Restaurant Night
  • November 10 – last day for “Believe” donations
  • November 12 – last day for Trade-N-Play campaign
  • November 15 – General meeting of PTO (all parents vote) re: new computers. 6:00

The PTO General meeting is for all parents (all have a vote) and will be on Tuesday evening, November 15, at 6:00 PM in the cafeteria. There will be voting on decisions about purchasing computers. Please be reminded that this year as a measure to cut our spending, the PTO is no longer providing childcare or pizza during the PTO General meetings.

The position of treasurer needs to be filled as the former treasurer has resigned. At this time, we will open the position to any parent at ACS. That is, if you are interested in running for PTO board membership as treasurer, we need to hear from you immediately. There are, so far, two parents who are offering to share the role of treasurer. Anyone else interested must contact Kate Fischer at 303-688-8461, no later than Monday October 31. The new treasurer position will be filled and announced on Tuesday, November 1.

The Fall Festival is tomorrow!! (October 29) The times have changed from the original listing. It will be from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. If anyone would like some credit for volunteering, we could still use more help with setting up (tonight, Friday 28 at 5:30 at ACS). If you want to offer help during the day on Saturday, just talk to the folks selling tickets at the entrance door. Thanks to the many volunteers who have spent numerous hours to make this a success! You are all greatly appreciated!

Food available includes chicken sandwiches from Chick-fil-a,(accepting only cash). Other food items (using tickets only) include pizza from Little Caesar’s, coffee from Starbucks, hot dogs, cotton candy and more. Admission is free! Tickets will be available at the door at 4 for $1 for food & games. This event is designed to be a community event so we hope to see you, your friends and neighbors all there!

Classroom Coordinators! Please remember that setup time for games for the Fall Carnival is Friday, October 28th @ 5pm in the Cafeteria. Be sure to bring your signs and anything needed to run your games. Please know that coordinators are responsible for all of their items and they should be marked with a class teacher’s name. Also, please remember tape cannot be used on any painted wall, so be prepared when you come for setup. Bring tape or stapler, depending on where your booth is located. Any questions about setup, your game or volunteers for your game, please contact Misty O'Leary at 303-688-6631 or jimandmisty@comcast.net

The uniform sale was a hit! Thank you to Julie Benzel and Rochelle Dalke for putting together the uniform sale yesterday, Thursday the 27th. This event may become a “regular” for ACS. Watch for the next one, possibly this spring.

Play N Trade runs till November 12. You must have a flyer with you at the time of purchase to get the 10% discount. Remember, this is a great way to get a jump on Christmas, and ACS gets 20% of the ‘flyer sales’.

Believe Campaign results: The ACS students made approximately $6,247.00 net earnings in sales from the Believe catalog orders. This exceeds last year’s net earnings from this campaign. Thank you to everyone, whether by selling or direct contributions, for the participation! The winners of our incentive contest are Mrs. Fortelka's class having the most participation with 14 kids selling, and Mrs. Henderson’s class selling the most in dollars ($1,311). Each of these classes will get their choice of a pizza, or ice cream party. We had a total of 177 students participating.

You may still support this ACS fundraiser without participating in the selling through direct contributions before the campaign closes on Thursday, November 10th. Direct contributions will go entirely (100%) to the school. If your family would like to donate (any amount) to ACS- PTO, it would be most appreciated and remember, the money all goes back to students for improvements, equipment, enrichment and the like.

THANK YOU to everyone who helped to make the teacher and staff lunch a success on Thursday and Friday of this week. It was great to be able to give the staff a good meal before launching into an afternoon of conferences! Big thanks go out to Tracy Belk, Julie Benzel, Sunnie Bottin, Kris Ciafone, Karen Davis, Leslie Farmer, Jean French, Kim Gentry, Shalea Hardison, Jeanne Hargrave, Sharon Hunter, Carolyn Kouts, Lisa McNeil, Gina Ordunez, Sue Parks, Bonnie Padios, Emily Ragen, Tina Rolle, Michelle Scheibe, Deanna Schmidt, Debra Van Sicklin, and Jana Zinser. Many of you pulled double duty by bringing something both days or bringing a couple dishes. Also, big thanks to Michelle Scheibe for helping to organize, set up, and clean up! Really, thank you everyone! - Jackie Radcliffe

Restaurant Night is Thursday, November 3, from 4:30 on, at Red Robin in Castle Rock. (Located just north of Founders Pkwy, not far from I-25.) You MUST have ‘the flyer’ with you. What an easy fundraiser! Simply take your family to Red Robin on 11/3 and hand the server the flyer that came home in your child's Friday folder. ACS will receive 10% of the flyer-identified sales. It is a great way to spend time with your family, meet your kids' friends and their families, see teachers and the school staff, eat good food, and raise money for ACS. Feel free to make copies of the flyer and hand them out to family, neighbors, and friends too. Flyers will be coming home 10/28, so check your Friday folders.
Thanks! - Susan Trost

Hoping you have a great weekend,
Victoria Arnett
