Kindergarten Newsletter

Date: November 14, 2008

Parent information:

Please remember to send in Friday folders each week.

Date Change: January 16th Testing Day moved to the 9th of January

Dec. 17th- ACS Winter program, 5:30-6:30p.m. in ACS gym. Children should arrive promptly to our classroom at 5:15, dressed in “holiday best”.

Oct. 16- Nov. 26th Please send in gently used mittens or hats to be collected for the channel 7 coat drive.

I will no longer be sending home a weekly behavior sheet, unless your child slips below a green.

Please note that the “ask me about” section covers items your child should know. If they do not respond to the questions, this would indicate that they can use your help to reinforce these items.

Please note I have enclosed D’Nealian handwriting descriptions in the Friday folder, so you can help your child with correct letter formation.

Please continue bringing in your box tops for education, the class that collects the most by Nov. 20th will get a pizza party!

Ask Me About:

The letters M,A,S,P,T,I,N,T?

Your child should be able to write these letters in upper case and lower case and tell you the sound it makes and a word that goes with it?

Words that rhyme with see?

How to write and read the words I, can, we, the, like, a, see, go, to?

Can I repeat the alphabet chart out loud from A-Z?

What does fewest mean?

Can I almost write the numbers 1-10?

Can I create an A,B,B pattern? (spoon, fork, fork, spoon…)

Thoughts and Inspiration:

“Children are extra special celebrate them!”
