7th and 8^th Tech

7^th Grade:

We are continuing to use Photoshop. To finish up this quarter, I will introduce a few more tools on Photoshop and then the kids will do a final project. This will be a large project which will involve using Word, PowerPoint and Photoshop. They will write up a biography/newsletter about a celebrity and then do some makeovers on this celebrity and then will present the work that they completed on their celebrity. It will involve research, creativity and working on their presentation skills. This quarter the kids will also have MAPS testing one week, so this quarter is going to fly.

8^th Grade:

We are continuing to use Visual Basic Programming in Excel. When finished with this, the students will begin HTML and then will create multiple web pages. We will also do one more project on how to test a web site for legitimacy and that will finish out the quarter. This quarter the kids will also have one final MAPS testing week. Then the 8^th graders will move on to high school.

As always, for both 7^th and 8^{th grade}, we practice keyboarding skills everyday. Along with their keyboarding skills, I try to help the kids to practice proper posture while sitting. Hopefully this will pay off in the future.
