7th and 8^th Tech

As another quarter comes to an end, I’m always amazed at how quickly the time goes. This quarter PhotoShop has been our main focus. We did take a 2 week break from PhotoShop and the kids worked on holiday brochures. They chose from a variety of holidays which are celebrated around the world. They then had to present their holidays to the class. It was a lot of fun to learn about the holidays and the differences in cultures and religions around the world. The kids did a great job of researching and then presenting their work.

We also still continue to work on our keyboarding skills. I have purchased some cover skins for the keyboards to try and stop some of the bad habits some kids have acquired. I really stress looking at the monitor and working on their posture while they are typing. We practice our keyboarding skills everyday for about 10 – 12 minutes. Some kids have become very proficient on the keyboards. This is a skill which I feel will be invaluable to them as they continue on their “jobs” of being in school.

We will close out this quarter with a typing test and a PhotoShop test. I will be doing the testing the week before our last week. I’m sure the kids will do great, since we have had a lot of practice on PhotoShop.
