This is what we have been doing in P.E.:

Kindergarten-1st  Grade

We have been beginning each class with fitness activities such as jumping jacks, jump rope and the Macarena.  The students have been playing simple tagging and throwing games.  Ask your children about playing shark under the parachute.  They love it!  Finally, we’ve played new games like Spongebob tag and exerbug races.  Many of my classes have also earned game of choice days.

2nd Grade-5th Grade

We have been beginning each class with team building games like the human knot and survivor.  We’ve also done dances like the Cha Cha Slide          and the Macarena.  We learned new games like Battleship and Super Crazy Ball, which were a hit!  The Pacer Test was given this week to get multi-            level endurance test.  As the year progresses, students can see how they performed and set goals before they run it again.  Many of these classes             have also earned game of choice days.

6th  Grade-8th Grade

All Middle School students have been rotating through four fitness stations per day.  We have begun a new unit in basketball.  Rules of the game, as          well as dribbling, passing and shooting skills are practiced throughout the quarter.  A basketball “Jeopardy” test will be given as well.  The Pacer             Test     was also given to all Middle School students.

Please remind your children to bring water bottles and wear sneakers to P.E. class.  Some students are wearing boots and forgetting to bring sneakers on snowy days.  Please help them remember their shoes so they may participate in PE.

Thank you for your support.
