Handwriting: We are starting our new DeNelian handwriting program. Third graders will first be introduced to it
with printing letters. They then will
soon be learning how to cursive tie the letters together. We do not want the students writing in cursive
until they have learned all the letters using the proper techniques. If you could help us reiterate the importance
of them doing their best work, that would be great.
·
Your child should
be reading a chapter book during their nightly reading. This month’s book report will be a
gingerbread man that they will be writing a book summary on – For those of you
that like a jump start, this form will be in Friday folder for your child’s report. It is then due on Dec. 5th.

·
Reminder:
Read at least 20 minutes each night and turn in Friday reading
logs. They still need some guidance in
their nightly reading. Listening to them
and asking them questions will help them strengthen their fluency and
comprehension. Please let us know if you
have any questions.
Math: To help your child be more successful with math,
please help them understand the importance of doing their homework. Also, please check over your child’s math
homework nightly.
Core: Solomon kids &
Lillie’s
kids:
Are moving into Light and Sound Pearson’s kids: Are
starting Canada & Explorers.

Other Information for all
Third Grade:
ü Friday, Dec. 5th Summary book report due.
ü Please have your child always refer to their planner
for individual class homework changes.
Also, our website was down last week.
Please be patient and when this happens feel free to call another classmate
for help.
ü We know this sounds crazy, but many students are
still coming to school without water bottles.
Oh! How thirsty they can
get. We definitely want them to keep
their brains charged to learn while not wasting all that class time running to
the drinking fountains. J
Thank
you for your partnership in educating your child.
