Elementary Teaching Position

Responsibilities:  Teach the Core Knowledge Elementary Curriculum and Common Core Standards. The position includes all other general responsibilities associated with a teaching position, including attending staff meetings, collaborating with colleagues, preparing grades, communicating with parents regularly, and conducting Parent/Teacher conferences.

Qualifications:

  • Colorado Elementary Teaching License
  • Able to work 7:40 a.m.-3:50 p.m. M-F
  • Ability to differentiate lessons in all content areas
  • Report out and disaggregate student data and progress

Homeschool Elementary Classroom Teacher

The Academy Charter School’s Homeschool Support Program is seeking  enthusiastic teachers for our elementary homeschool enrichment classes at our Lone Tree location. The ideal candidates will provide an enriching and motivating program for our students. The positions needed are: a 5th-6th grade sciencebteacher and a K-6th grade electives teacher.  The science teacher will follow the Core Knowledge Sequence for science.  The electives teacher will provide activities such as PE games, cooking, art, drama, math enrichment to all students grades K-6th.
These are part-time positions.

Responsibilities:

Candidates must hold a Colorado teaching license and be certified to teach elementary grades

Candidate must be able to work on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00-2:30  (classes are from 9:30-2:00)   Classes are held in the Lone Tree area.

  • Ability to work with students at multiple levels of readiness
  • Strong classroom management skills

  • Flexibility/willingness to work in non conventional classroom setting

Spanish Teacher Position

Responsibilities:  Teach Spanish using the Core Knowledge Sequence and the Colorado Content Standards. Teacher will help students develop linguistic Spanish in listening, speaking, reading and writing.

The position includes all other general responsibilities associated with a teaching position, including attending staff meetings, collaborating with colleagues, preparing grades, communicating with parents regularly, and conducting Parent/Teacher conferences.

Qualifications:

  • Colorado Teaching License for Spanish or Highly Qualified
  • Able to work 7:40 a.m.-3:50 p.m. M-F

  • Subject area expertise

General Education Instructional Assistant

Responsibilities: 
Responsible for providing assistance to teachers in working with students, clerical tasks and other functions; collaborates with teachers to provide assistance in large and small group instructional support; may assist with grading student papers; mediates student conflicts; supervises students in various school settings including lunch and recess; may administer first aid; assists in the maintenance of student records; assists in the maintenance of student cumulative records through the transcription of data; performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • Able to work 7:40 a.m.-4:00 p.m. M-F
  • Ability to work with students Kindergarten-8th grade
  • General office/computer skills.

Substitute Teachers Needed

Academy Charter School (ACS) has openings for K-8 substitute teachers of all experience levels.

Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to the mission and philosophy of Academy Charter School with enthusiasm, commitment, and integrity.
  • Teach Academy Charter School’s curriculum with fidelity.
  • Uphold and model Academy Charter School’s Core Virtues.
  • Maintain and respect confidential information.
  • Maintain a disciplined and controlled classroom that fosters a safe and positive environment for all students and staff in accordance with school policies.
  • Ensure the health, welfare, and safety of all students.
  • Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facility.

Specific Duties:

  • Reports to office upon arrival at school.
  • Report all student injuries, accidents, illnesses, and discipline problems to the appropriate authority immediately or as soon as is reasonably possible.
  • Implement lesson plans, according to the teacher’s directions, and in a manner which motivates students to learn and participate.
  • Dismiss all students from the classroom before leaving the building.
  • Complete a Substitute Teacher Report Form for the regular classroom teacher.
  • Return instructional materials, equipment, and keys to proper place.
  • Determine if his/her services will be required for the next school day.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by sub coordinator in accordance with school policies and practices.

Requirements:

  • College degree preferred in education
  • Teaching license preferred
  • Fingerprints/background check (must be cleared before hiring)
  • Three references
